So May is upon us, how did that happen! I thought I would share some of the beauty items I loved using in April.
Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara – I usually a massive fan of Mac mascaras, especially zoom lash. I like the big lash look, but I only really use falsies for big occasions, as I am not the most patient person in the world.
I saw Zoella – the famous Youtuber talk about this mascara in one of her videos, and she raved about it. Its a plastic wand, which I am not normally a fan of, but this mascara goes on brilliantly, instantly lengthens lashes, and makes your eyes pop. For £7.99 its a very good product!
Makeup Revolution Sculpt & Contour Kit in C04– I was in superdrug looking for a bronzer, as I had completely run out of my Bourjois chocolate compact. I love their revolution range of make up, its very affordable, and some of their pieces, give high end products a run for their money. I took a liking to their ultra sculpt and contour kit, which has a bronzer, blush, and highlighter in one. I liked the colour of their bronzer, and highlighter, but wasn’t sure on the dark blusher, I am usually a pinky peach girl. At £3.50 though it was a bargain! When I first used it I tried the blush, and wow I was in love, it gives you an instant glow and for the price is very pigmented. The highlighter is gorgeous too, not over the top glitz, but subtle. The bronzer however, which is what I bought it for, doesn’t blend that well, so a little disappointed in that – ah well more make up shopping needed! For the blusher alone though I love this compact!
Body shop Drops of Youth™ CREAM – Last October I hit the grand old age of 30 – Gulp! And I thought whilst shopping the other day, I think the time may have come to get a really good face cream. I have very dry sensitive skin, so I have to be super careful with what products I put on my face.
With this in mind I headed into The Body Shop, one of my favourite shops! I love this brand, I love what they stand for, their ingredients and their products are always good. As I wondered round, an assistant came to help me, asked me my skin type and recommended a couple of products. I opted for their something cream from the something range. It is all completely natural, with a blend of 3 plant stem cells. When you put this cream on it is so soft and cooling, it feels lovely on the skin.
Ive been using it now for a couple of weeks, every morning after I have washed my face, and my skin feels very soft. I don’t have patches of dry skin anymore. As for the anti aging properties, it may be too early to see any difference, but hey fingers crossed!
Fizz ease – I have naturally curly hair, it is a nightmare! My curls aren’t lovely manageable one, oh no they are frizzy all over the place ones – not a good look! I used to use Frizz Ease a lot in my late teens, early twenties and completely loved it. Now I use more oils and argan oils.
I was in Tesco’s a couple of weeks ago though, and there was a stand of all the Frizz Ease products by John Freda, all reduced, so I thought why not. I bought the Extra Strength 6 Effects + Serum at £5.89 , it wasn’t too bad. You put this on soaking wet hair, and if I remembered a small bit goes along way, or your hair can look greasy. I washed my hair a few days later, applied the product, dried it, straightened it, and added a bit more at the end – and I really did see a big difference. No fly aways at the roots or ends! We went out that night, and my hair didn’t go frizzy like it sometimes does – Very impressive, I don’t know why I ever stopped using it!
